The extra-occupational certificate program introduces students to the contents and forms of organizational consulting as well as to concept development for organizations and institutions in the pedagogical fields of action of social and school pedagogy, adult education and in-company training and continuing education. It aims at the qualification for an activity in school and extracurricular fields of action (school and socio-pedagogical institutions, institutions of youth welfare in the sense of the KJHG, counseling centers with pedagogical focus, company training and further education institutions and the like).

The course imparts scientific knowledge and practical skills. It covers the areas of counseling theory, counseling methodology and counseling practice. Subsidiary subjects are psychology and sociology; law and business administration.

The course of study takes place primarily in the form of block seminars, supplemented by practical exercises and project studies. The project studies are designed in such a way that the practice of organizational consulting is tested and practiced throughout the entire course of study on the basis of assignments from social organizations and institutions.
